Bruce Springsteen

Stadio Olimpico di Turin/Torino, 21 luglio. 34 mila persone giunte da ogni parte per ascoltare il concerto di Bruce Springsteen. "The Boss", salito sul palco, saluta il suo pubblico: «Mi i son content d'esse ambelessí con vojáutri». In piemontese.

L'ennesima prova che la nostra lingua non solo é viva e pronta a fare il salto di qualitá verso il futuro ce la fornisce la percezione di un artista che arriva da lontano e che é famoso in tutto il mondo da oltre trent'anni. Al di lá di tutte le leggi di tutela che fingono che noi non esistiamo.

Ci ha salutati nella nostra lingua, alla faccia di tutti i provinciali di casa nostra, che hanno vergogna di parlarla.

C'é chi dice che l'avrebbe fatto per questioni commerciali: se cosí fosse ció proverebbe ancor piú che la lingua piemontese é viva, che é una lingua veicolare e che si puó usare anche per questo. Si puó usare per tutto e in tutti i contesti, anche nei concerti rock.

Noi ringraziamo Bruce Springsteen per avere compreso e interpretato correttamente la realtá della cittá che lo ospitava, una realtá che, invece, i media continuano a voler nascondere, proprio a partire dalla lingua propria.

Olympic Stadium of Turin, on July 21. Thirty-four thousand people arrive from all over to listen to Bruce Springsteen in concert. When he, "the Boss", goes up on stage, he greets his fans with,«Mi i son content d'esse ambelessí con vojáuti» ('I'm happy to be here with you'). This proof positive that our language is more than alive and ready to make the leap into the future is given to us through the perception of an artist who comes from afar, whom everybody around the world has known for more than three decades. And this beyond [and despite] all the [Italian] cultural protection laws that pretend like we don't exist. He greeted us in our own language, under the nose of all the provincials of our house, who are ashamed to speak it. There are those who'll say that he probably did so for commercial reasons; if this were the case it would prove even more so that the Piemontéis language is alive, that it's a language of the media, and that it can be used for this purpose as well. It can be used for everything, in all contexts--even at rock concerts. We thank Bruce Springsteen for having understood and correctly gauged the reality of the city that hosted him, a reality that, instead, the [usual Italian] media channels fall in line to try to hide, beginning right with the language itself.
